Some would say I have a natural ability to open a person’s eyes to see themself. I’m like a mirror with a gentle light ready to meet you where you are without judgement. On top of these gifts I have the benefit of experience. I have been working in the natural health industry for over 20 years and finally came home to get certifications in Ayurvedic Counseling so I can work with individuals who desire change toward a state of balance- or maybe they’re just thinking about change. It’s all good. The desire for improvement or self-preservation comes in many forms and I like to congratulate each client for showing up to do this work.

 Education:

Monika Kathuria, MA, HAC is a lifelong student of Vedic Sciences. She earned an MA in Religion from the University of Hawaii at Manoa where she studied Hindu and Buddhist literature and Sanskrit. She has a BA in Philosophy from University of CA, Irvine where she studied symbolic and linguistic logic. She holds Ayurvedic certifications from Kerala Ayurveda Academy (directed by Dr. Jayarajan Kodikannath) and Ayurvedic Institute (directed by Dr. Vasant Lad). She has practiced Reiki and Chi Qong at Dragon Gate Sanctuary in Hawaii (Directed by Chirstopher Lee Matsuo). She has a certificate of completion from the Thor Laser Photobiomodulation workshop.

Professional History

Monika is the Herbalist and Founder of Hawaii Nutrition Company, one of Hawaii’s Premier herbal supplement brands. She was the Cofounder and Director of Herbologie, Hawaii’s first Herb and Spice shop, which also housed a wellness center, production kitchen, indoor garden and distribution center. Monika is an innovator in formulation and developing processing methods that optimize the freshness and effectiveness of herbal materials. In addition to herbalism, Monika is also interested in Meditation, Marma Point therapy and light therapy as healing modalities.

She continues to produce herbal products while offering personal consultations for people wishing to reclaim their health and fertility via Ayurvedic Nutrition and Red Light Therapy.

Monika is a member of the National Ayurvedic Medical Association (NAMA), the American Herbalist Guild, and American Botanical Society.

Personal interests 

While still working in Hawaii and California, Monika now lives in the SF Bay Area where she delights in raising a family and prolific garden. She continues her education in Ayurveda at both schools attending various workshops throughout the year.
